Water Quality Testings
We have recently expanded our Water Quality Program, providing more options to our clients. Based on our new capabilities, we feel that every waterbody would benefit from having the water periodically tested to create a profile of characteristics, watch for any changes, and to check for any harmful bacteria, such as E. coli.
Benefits of Testing
A testing program allows you to gain a better understanding of the overall health of your waterbody. The report will create a profile that allows you to compare your lake to averages for Michigan lakes and ponds. Also, you can compare annual data, watching for any alarming changes in your water body’s profile.
You will also be able to monitor the nutrient levels in the water that regulate plant growth. If the nutrients are above a critical level, you may decide to take action to prevent additional nutrient influx and to remove nutrients already in the water.
Our Standard Test Includes:
- Temperature
- Transparency
- pH
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
- Conductivity
- Dissolved Oxygen
- Alkalinity
- Hardness
- Phosphates
- Nitrates
- Fecal Coliforms (E. coli)
- Written Report – includes data, graphs displaying the information, an explanation of the parameters tested, and discussion regarding any results that are unusual for your waterbody.
E. Coli
There are many possible sources of harmful bacteria that contaminate surface water. Leaking septic systems, waterfowl, other wildlife, and even pets can sometimes be important sources of harmful bacteria. Contaminated waters can be as clear as the water from your tap. A laboratory test is necessary to determine whether dangerous bacteria are present.
With all of our Water Quality Tests, LakePro will determine with certainty the presence of any bacteria that may pose a threat to people, pets, fish, and birds that use the waterbody.
Additional Testing Options Include:
- Toxic Pollutants such as Mercury and Lead
- Dissolved Oxygen-Depth Profiles
- Sediment Sampling & Testing for Nutrients, Metals, or Pollutants
